Christmas and all that entails

It's that time of the year again, where it becomes a rush to get the cards out on time and i'm failing miserably. This year however (similar to Christmas 2007), I've tried to add a yearly newsletter. Thus, I'm reminded that I'm not a very good writer... I'm a rather dull writer really. It's not that I can't find the words, it just that the way it is all constructed seems rather monotonous hence DULL. Makes me think if I'm a actually a dull person to talk to. Would I be able to send someone off to sleep by just talking to them? That will really be handy if I had a baby :) I could talk it to sleep.
However, dull or not I'm proud to say that the newsletter is written (be it badly) and is ready to go with the cards. Now, I just need to pray that the cards arrive on time seeing that they're only going to be posted today.

The other aspect of Christmas is present buying. Being thousands of miles away from family, I find it convenient to buy the said presents online. here I am finally able to test the hype of online buying during Christmas! Is it really better than actually going out to the shops? Personally, I would say no. I just found it difficult to get into the spirit of buying presents for our loved ones. I also lacked the inspiration and creative aspects of gift shopping when I shopped online. In the end, I found myself going out to the shops looking for ideas and inspiration and then coming home to look for the same things online. I suppose I'm quite a tactile person and thus, seeing and touching the possible gifts assures me that I'm buying the best quality I can afford. I also like to see everything at a wider scope and hence the limited confines of a web page and all the buttons I have to click to get where I want to go annoys the hell out of me. This leads me on to think...

... of the time before the internet... that will have to be my next post as it's beginning to storm outside and that is when my computer rests ;)
