Christmas hols 2009 : Moree

We began our two week driving holiday on the 19th of December 2009. We chose to stop at a few towns to stay the night for it's unique attractions. Our first town was Moree. We decided to check out it's Artesian Spa. Moree is small town and I get the impression that it's famous more for a stop over for truck drivers who were travelling from Sydney/Melbourne to Brisbane than it's Artesian Spa ;)
Nevertheless, we decided to spend a day at the spa and found that the average age of the people using the spa was about 60years-old. Our presence there for the morning I believe would have dropped the average age quite a few notches hehehe... Nevertheless, it was a very relaxing experience soaking in a 40'C pool rich with minerals, supposedly healthy for those who care to indulge in it. The Moree Artesian Spa complex dates back to 1895! Therefore, I felt quite privileged to be able to not just view it like a museum but to also use it. Unlike the later towns we were about to stop at, Moree was one town we felt that a day was enough for a visit and we left the town for Coonabarabran very satisfied.
